History
CDS was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana in December 1999. The company began by servicing several small banks and ISOs in the south Louisiana area. As business grew, CDS needed a more robust processing platform so in 2001, CDS installed the ACI Postilion software for it’s core processing. That same year, CDS added a direct connection to the STAR network to complement its direct connection to PULSE.
In 2003, CDS introduced its WebTools services, a robust web-based ATM management information system. A direct connection to MasterCard was also installed.
In 2004, a direct connection to NYCE was added and CDS moved its back-up site from Jackson, Mississippi to Dallas, Texas.
In 2005, a direct connection to Fiserv was added for ACCEL, Exchange, AFFN and CU24 access. On August 28th, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans causing one of the nation's largest natural disasters and totally destroying much of the city and surrounding areas. The dedicated staff at CDS, with help from several of its strategic partners, made one of the most remarkable disaster recoveries in electronic payments history as all operations were transitioned to its back-up site in Dallas. During the aftermath of Katrina, CDS permanently relocated its offices to Dallas and shut down operations in New Orleans.
In 2007, CDS reached 25,000 terminals on its platform and the company moved to larger corporate offices.
In 2010 CDS reached 50,000 terminals on its platform and moved its back-up site to Kansas City, Missouri.
